Dr. Emiliano Treré

I am a Reader in Data Agency and Media Ecologies at Cardiff's School of Journalism, Media and Culture and a former Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Querétaro, Mexico (2011-2016). My research addresses the issue of digital activism, algorithmic agency, and resistance from a theoretical standpoint through a two-pronged approach. On one side, it examines these key issues through crucial questions of culture and identity, while on the other side, it aims to develop conceptual frameworks related to media theories of change, such as mediation, media ecologies, and media practice.
